In Those Winter Nights.

Imagine the winter—
all brittle air,
in those shortened days,
how much I loved you.

Imagine the winter—
the crackled fire,
in those elongated nights,
how much I loved you.

Write down these words.

Send them to yourself.
When the days are long
and the nights are short,
remember the winter—
and how much I loved you.
